JOB OVERVIEW: The operator ensures that their team completes projects efficiently and safely by performing the following duties and responsibilities. Your responsibilities will include proper excavation, installation, repair, and maintenance of underground wet utilities. JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Accurately complete all safety documents in accordance with Apex Plumbing safety protocols.
• Competently operate excavation equipment, including but not limited to backhoes, skid loaders, etc., essential for the successful completion of assigned projects.
•  Read and follow plans, material lists, and guidelines, applying necessary timelines to ensure project milestones are met.
• Inspect and maintain equipment thoroughly to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Complete all required equipment maintenance documentation accurately and promptly.
• Verify that all locates have been appropriately marked before commencing any excavation work.
• Actively participate in daily pre-con meetings, anticipating the needs of assigned jobs, including parts, supplies, and timing.
• Ensure that all necessary parts and supplies are loaded and brought to the job site.
• Communicate project updates as needed before, during, and after completion with the field supervisor, operations, and customers.
• Return the landscape to its original condition when the job is completed.
• Communicate any outstanding or incomplete items to the field supervisor.
• Take pictures and verify the cleanliness of the job site when the project is complete.
• Forward documentation to the updates thread for project records.
• Responsible for complying with all state, federal, OSHA, and Apex Plumbing Inc. Health and Safety Standards.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Training or experience in specialty areas such as wet utilities, concrete, asphalt preferred, but not required.
• Able to operate as well as maintain mechanical equipment and tools is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess and maintain a current Driver’s License
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
• Receive classroom and on-the-job training attentively and work to expand your knowledge and experience. 
• OSHA 10, preferred 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
